How Did it All Begin? | Our Franchise Team

How Did it All Begin?

In 1992, Anthony, Anna and Clarine Insinna (brother and sisters) converted an old house in East Amherst, New York into a small, beautiful child care center. They welcomed 24 preschool students and their families to the center and introduced high quality, education-based child care to the Western New York market.

Word spread quickly about the doodle difference. 'Doodle Bugs!' became synonymous with high quality child care and a commitment to continuous improvement. Put simply, families trusted the Insinna family to meet their child care needs – and Doodle Bugs! exceeded their expectations.

Following the success of the East Amherst center, the Insinna family added new locations throughout the Buffalo area, then expanded to the Rochester, Pittsburgh and Florida. Today Doodle Bugs! operates thirteen centers, serving over 3,000 families.

Our commitment to high-quality child care inspired us to bring the Doodle Bugs! experience to other cities in the US as well. We established Doodle Bugs! Franchising Company, LLC and now offer franchises in 9 states.
